The Sera restaurant (se ra za khang) was built some time between 1994 and 2004. Before this time there was a smaller restaurant within the Zhungpa Regional House (gzhung pa khang tshan) enclave. The present restaurant has a large kitchen on its eastern side, and a large dining room on the western side of the building. The covered veranda on the back (south) of the building also has tables. There are also tables scattered in a picnic area with many trees just below (south of) the veranda. Sera monks staff the restaurant.

An infirmary is found on the second floor above the restaurant.
