Description:

This small compound, located on the southern circumambulation route of the monastery, was the residence of the lamas (bla ma) of the Jokpo (’jog po) incarnation lineage, and is affiliated with the Zhungpa Regional House (gzhung pa khang tshan). The first Jokpo Lama (’jog po bla ma) was the founder Zhungpa Regional House, and his statue is found in the Zhungpa Regional House temple. Jokri Ngawang Tendzin (’jog ri ngag dbang bstan ’dzin, b. 1748) was the founder of the Jokpo hermitage (’jog po ri khrod), one of the hermitages above Sera (se ra).
